Croatia is the latest country to stake a claim to Adnan Januzaj after
it’s FA revealed plans to speak to the Manchester United winger over
his international future.
Januzaj, 18, is the most high profile young player in the world at
the moment after scoring a brace on his United debut against Sunderland
last weekend.
Although born in Belgium, Januzaj has family links to several other
countries, with many keen on securing his international registration.
As well Belgium, they include Albania, Serbia and Turkey, while England have been mentioned as a possible option for the future.
But now Croatia have also thrown its hat into the ring, with their
Under-21 manager revealing they are keen to poach the prospect.
‘One of the managers from Albania has told me that Adnan’s mother is
from Croatia so we are of course interested in him,’ said Ivo Susak.
‘His potential is amazing but we know we are facing an uphill battle for him.
‘We are yet to speak with him but we are of course planning talks with this young player.’
United say Januzaj will only decide on his international future once he is a regular in their team.
