Michael Jordan engaged to model Prieto

Michael Jordan is engaged to longtime girlfriend Yvette Prieto, a Cuban-American model he's been dating for three years.

Publicist Estee Portnoy confirmed the news, first reported by WCNC in Charlotte, on Thursday.

The Bobcats owner got engaged over the Christmas weekend. No wedding date has been set.

This will be Jordan's second marriage. He married Juanita Vanoy in September 1989, and they divorced in 2006. They have two sons, Jeffrey Michael and Marcus James, and a daughter, Jasmine.

Former MotoGP champion Nicky Hayden breaks ribs in training crash

Former MotoGP world champion Nicky Hayden has broken two ribs and a shoulder blade during a training accident in Kentucky.

The American suffered the injuries near his home in Owensboro and has since had x-rays, a CAT scan and an MRI.

Ducati confirmed that no surgery has been scheduled but that the 30-year-old rider would have the fractures assessed in California next week.

"Injuries are never good but it's part of motorcycle racing," Hayden said.

"I was starting to train again, like I normally do during the winter, at a private track near my house. I came up behind another rider, and he went to move out of the way.

"I wasn't going that fast, but he clipped my front wheel and I went down and landed pretty hard on my left shoulder, and that was it."

Hayden, who became MotoGP world champion in 2006, had been training for the first time since breaking his wrist during the Valencia Grand Prix in November.

The first race of the new season will take place at the desert circuit of Losail in Qatar on 8 April 2012.

Sri Lanka record first away win against South Africa

Sri Lanka ended a run of 15 Tests without a victory to claim their first ever win in South Africa by 208 runs at the second Test in Durban.

Rangana Herath took 5-79 as Sri Lanka recorded their first Test win in nearly 18 months and their first since the retirement of Muttiah Muralitharan.

Set 450 to win, the hosts were all out for 241, with only AB de Villiers (69) and Dale Steyn (43) putting up a fight.

The series is level with the final Test in Cape Town starting on 3 January.

Sri Lanka began the day on 256-7 but were dismissed for 279 with Steyn claiming figures of 5-73.

De Villiers was finally trapped lbw for a 141-ball 69 by Herath before Sri Lanka dusted off the final three wickets in the space of four balls.
