Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo surprised by Sergio Aguero's attitude leading up to exit Atletico Madrid chairman Enrique Cerezo has bemoaned the behaviour of Sergio Aguero towards the club.
The Argentina international ended almost two months of speculation surrounding his future when he signed for Manchester City in a deal worth €45 million earlier this week.
Aguero always said he did not want to play for Atletico Madrid, and Cerezo has indicated that the reason the player acted like this remains a mystery.
"That is a subject which is over and closed. Aguero had a buy-out clause and City paid it, though I still ask myself what we did for him to treat us like this," Cerezo told Cadena Cope.
"I spoke to him when he went to Copa America and we were the ones who got the most surprised because we did not expect it.

"The truth is that things could have been done much better, but the fact is that we have to focus on the season because we do not count on him anymore."
Despite receiving a hefty chunk of money with Aguero's sale, Cerezo stressed the club will not use the profit to buy just one player, as €45m deals "are not adjusted to our economy".
Atletico Madrid reportedly had a €12 million offer for Daniel Osvaldo rejected by Espanyol on Thursday, but Cerezo has now denied such stories, saying: "I do not even have any idea about that interest."
