Lionel Messi has reiterated that he would not consider a move to Real Madrid and says he would only leave Barcelona for a return to Argentina.
Messi, who has just turned 24, has always professed complete loyalty to Barca but has nonetheless regularly been linked with Madrid and Inter Milan.
Speaking to Colombian newspaper El Pais, he has again spoken of his desire to play out his peak years at the Camp Nou before eventually returning to his homeland.
"If I leave Barcelona, it will be to return to Argentina and retire there," he said.
Asked whether he would ever consider joining Real Madrid, he said: "No, I don't think so, and nor would I want to go anywhere else. Today I'm happy at Barcelona. Things are great and I want to play there until I eventually go to Argentina."
