Chemelil Sugar are upto second place on the log after beating KCB 1-0 in a rain soaked match played in Awasi on Sunday.
The sugarmillers recovered from recovered last week’s loss to Ulinzi
Stars with a deserved three points against the bankers that took them
above Sofapaka and Tusker. They have 20 points, same as Sofapaka but
have a better goal difference.
The first half ended in a stalemate but upon resumption coach Edward
Manoah made a change bringing on substitute Kassim Mohammed and the
change paid off immediately when his long range shot slipped through
keeper Caleb Adola’s hands and legs in the 50th minute.
KCB tried to mount a comeback but Chemelil’s steadfast defence led by
James Agembe and Willis Oumas remained strong thwarting moved from
Clifford Alwanga.
“I am happy with the win today and we deserved it as the players
worked very hard on the pitch,” coach Manoah told SuperSport.com.
