Tanzania laud FIFA Insurance cover plan for players

The world soccer governing body (FIFA)has been ailed by president of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), Leodegar Tenga, for its promise to insure players on international duty.

Tenga said the move by FIFA is remarkable since it will give players confidence and self believe  when featuring for continental matches.
The new development, added Tenga,  will spur the young generation adding that the development will be effect after FIFA national members approve it at their general assembly scheduled for Budapest in May.
Tenga described the proposed insurance cover news as wonderful because it has come at a time when domestic football governing body and other national football associations in the world have been struggling to cover their national team players during international competitions.
The president said the insurance by FIFA will make many players on national team duty to be committed than it is the case now where players commitments to their national teams are weak as contrasted to that of their clubs.
FIFA president Sepp Blatter made the remarks at the UEFA annual congress that the federation will make sure that players on international duty get comprehensive insurance cover.
He said for many years the TFF has been unable to offer comprehensive insurance policies to national team players due to financial hiccups.
“It’s a good and recommendable development because many national football associations in the world do not have the money to offer comprehensive insurance policy to national team players,” he said.
According to FIFA, it also expected at the Hungary general assembly to pass a resolution that all 208 members of the body should have defibrillator at matches sanctioned by FIFA.
