Hippos are eyeing qualification to the African youth championships
Aspire Sports star Ivan Sekazza is set to boost the national U-20
team’s campaign through the qualifiers to the Africa Youth
Championships.
Sekazza travelled to the Academy of Sports Excellency to improve on
their playing style and is expected play a role as an attacking
midfielder in the national team on Saturday.

Saturday, Nakivubo
Uganda v Mozambique
Uganda starts their campaign Saturday with a match against Mozambique
at Nakivubo, before they travel to Maputo in a fortnight’s time for
another friendly encounter.
But despite not having time to train as a team due to the on-going
Bell Uganda Super League action and the federation technical committee
not making up their mind on where the team will camp, the return of
Maroons George Abege and Elias Ssekisambu might provide the required
upfront needed by coaches Paul Nkata and Abdallah Mubiru to get
results.
The duo is expected to combine well with Sekazza, who has been training in the Aspire Academy for youngsters in Qatar.
“He is coming in tomorrow and we will see how best he can fit in the
system,” said Mubiru ahead of their residential camp at Nabinonya on
Monday.
“The way things are looking, we will only have a full training as a
team on Thursday as the players have different league encounters with
their clubs. But we will try to offer what we can as a way of seeing
that we win the first leg. At least the players are fit and talented,”
said Mubiru.
Hippos were beaten by Rwanda in their last friendly encounter 2-0 at Nakivubo.
