Baada ya kumfuta kazi aliyekuwa kocha wake mkuu Ernie Brandts, klabu ya Yanga imelimaliza benchi lote la ufundi kwa kulifuta kazi ambapo hii leo imewakabidhi rasmi aliyekuwa kocha msaidizi mlinzi wa pembeni wa klabu hiyo Freddy Felix Minziro na aliyekuwa kocha wa makipa raia wa Kenya Razaki Siwa.

Taarifa za hivi punde zimeaarifu kuwa makocha hao wamefutwa kazi kutokana na sababu zilezile zilizomfuta kazi Ernie Brandts na kwamba kwasasa uongozi wa klabi hiyo inakamilisha mipango ya kupata kocha mkuu mpya huku kocha wa zamani wa AFC Leopard ya Kenya Luc Eymael akitajwa kuwa ni miongoni mwa makocha wanatupiwa macho na mabingwa hao wa soka Tanzania bara.

 Tayari Yanga imeshakwisha muajiri kocha Charles Bonface Mkwasa ambaye pia ni kiungo wa zamani wa klabu hiyo, ambaye amepewa jukumu la Minziro la kuwa kocha msaidizi. Kabla ya uteuzi wake Bonface alikuwa kocha mkuu wa Ruvu Shooting ya Pwani.

Kiungo wa timu ya taifa ya Ureno Carvalho kumaliza tatizo la kiungo cha United.

I can't be too hard on the Liverpool and Chelsea players who swapped shirts as they left the field at the break. I once asked Zinedine Zidane as we came back on after half-time if I could have his shirt at the end of a game.

But at least it was the end of the game before I got his shirt. Finish the job, then swap shirts. Anything else just looks ridiculous and I’m sure the players involved won’t be doing it again.

The Zidane shirt takes pride of place in my garage now, because my wife Louise won’t let me have the shirts up in the house. She prefers her fine art and it’s never something we’ve done. Everyone is different. I don’t have my caps or trophies on display, either. My wife sold millions of records and had singles that went platinum, but we’d rather have pictures of the kids. Although, I might have a sneaky look when I go into the garage, because I am very proud of what I achieved.

I played well in the first half against Zidane but after half-time of the England v France game, the closest I got to him was when we swapped shirts!

A few other shirts I collected in my career are in a cupboard: Thierry Henry, Alan Shearer and Steven Gerrard among them. I had one of Martin Keown’s once but used that to clean the car (only joking, Martin).

I would have asked Ryan Giggs for his, but it wasn’t acceptable to swap with Manchester United players when I was at Liverpool. And they were the same. I’m pretty sure that is still the case now.

It’s not really a modern trend. My dad had shirts from his time playing in America and he had a signed ball from a game against Pele. When I asked him where it was, he said he had given it away for a good cause. It would have been nice to have kept it for the grandchildren.

The players involved at Stamford Bridge will think they have done nothing wrong. Now players take off their shirts and replace them with clean ones at half-time, or some change a full kit. They would have been thinking: ‘I am taking it off anyway, so what’s wrong with swapping it now?’

But even that used to be banned at Spurs, where players would be made to pay for a replacement kit.

Signed shirts are donated to charity, such as the Barclays Premier League strips with poppies for Remembrance Sunday. Others are put up for auction.

Some autograph hunters collect and then sell signed shirts. I see that today on Ebay a Jamie Redknapp signed Liverpool shirt is up for bids at £69.99…

My most treasured shirt was my first game as captain of Liverpool. It was against Sheffield Wednesday and I had it framed with the armband. But when I moved house, it was stolen. The thieves stole the framed Jamie Redknapp shirt, but not the frame Zidane shirt! I’d love it back, but all I can say is that the thief obviously didn’t know much about football, did he?

PS: If anyone knows where it might be, please send it back. There is only one game when you are captain of Liverpool for the first time.
