Mapambano matano ambayo kila mpenzi wa ngumi angependa kuyaona 2014

Carl Froch v George Groves II

Floyd Mayweather v Gennady Golovkin
Pamoja na heshima kubwa kwa mabondia kama Danny Garcia na Amir Khan ni vigumu kumuona it is difficult to see how anyone at 154lbs can get close to beating Floyd Mayweather in 2014.

Five fights every boxing fan wants to see in 2014

Sergey Kovalev v Adonis Stevenson
It may not last very long, but there sure would be fireworks should these two light-heavyweights meet in the ring at some point over the next 12 months. Between them the pair have stopped 41 of their 46 combined opponents and demonstrated their natural power to British fight fans with comprehensive victories over Nathan Cleverly and Tony Bellew respectively. American broadcaster HBO had these two on the same card in November and a unification fight between the pair would go a long way to proving who is the best fighter at 175lbs on the planet.

Carl Frampton v Scott Quigg
Aside from Froch and Groves, this is probably the biggest all British fight to be made out there. While promotional rivalries have prevented Quigg and Northern Irishman Frampton from meeting in the ring so far the fact that the Bury boxer has won one of the WBA super-bantamweight belts (and there are far too many of them) could mean the fight could happen later this year. Both have pretty big followings and if Frampton can pick up a belt of his own in the next six months a clash in Manchester or Belfast could be possible next autumn.

Tyson Fury v Deontay Wilder
Nothing quite catches the imagination like two big-punching heavyweights, and a fight between Fury and Wilder would inject some much needed hype into a division which has gone stale during the period of domination by the Klitschko brothers. With older brother Vitali retiring to focus on his career in politics there is now an opening and these two undefeated giants are perfectly placed to cash in. Wilder has stopped all 30 of his opponents so far, including a 60-second destruction of Audley Harrison, but a rapidly improving Fury would represent a step up in class and a clash would be a real 50-50 fight.
