Luis Suarez's case could end up in a Premier League arbitration hearing if he continues to attempt to move to Arsenal.
The
Gunners triggered a clause in Suarez's contract by bidding £1 over
£40m, but there could be a hearing over the interpretation of the
clause.
Suarez is permitted to discuss personal terms with Arsenal, but Liverpool have rejected the London side's bid.
However, the controversial Uruguyan
forward believes Arsenal have triggered a release clause in his Anfield
deal - making Liverpool obliged to accept the offer.
Suarez's first move if Liverpool
refuse the move would be to go to the Premoer League over rule T.30,
which allows the league's governing body to intervene in disputes over
transfers.
Suarez attempt to invoke a similar clause in the Dutch Eredivisie while playing for Groningen.
He was attempting to force through a move to Ajax, lost the case, but ended up at the Amsterdam club anyway.

However, Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre reiterated the club's determination to keep hold of Suarez.
Speaking at a press conference in
Bangkok, insisted there had been no more contact with the Gunners since a
bid of £40million plus £1 was rejected on Tuesday.
Suarez arrived with the Liverpool squad in Bangkok on Thursday and took part in a light training session this morning.
Liverpool are adamant the Uruguayan is going nowhere unless their £50million valuation of the player is met.

'The situation with Luis Suarez remains the same,' Ayre said.
'It has never been our intention to
sell Luis. As has been widely reported in the media, we received two
separate offers from Arsenal and rejected them both.
'He remains a Liverpool player and is here with us in Thailand as part of our squad.'
Asked if Suarez would play some part
in Sunday's final tour game against Thailand, Rodgers said: 'Yes, I am
sure he will. As long as he's fit, he will play.
'He's still getting his fitness up as
he's three weeks behind the other players but the thing about Luis is
that he loves the game. He lives for the training and playing matches.'
